Bryant James Bradshaw was born to James and Elizabeth Bradshaw a little after midnight on April 23rd in a small town on the Blackwater estuary in Essex, England.

Ever since childhood, Bryant took the position of "the protector" quite seriously. He grew up bigger than other boys in his age group. Bryant had a pleasant enough childhood, albeit a slightly lonesome one, as he was a quiet studious child, not as outgoing and sociable as his peers. Despite his physical size, he was always the gentle giant, preferring to read under a tree on the playground to roughhousing or playing sports, though his natural athleticism helped him excel. Unfortunately, his choice to not be like everyone else made him the target of much bullying. Bryant always chose the higher path and did not engage with the bullies, unless pushed to the breaking point in defense of the small and weak.

Following completion of his post-16 education, Bryant moved to London to attend university at the University of West London, formerly known as Thames Valley University. There he took courses in Physics and, discovering that he was quite good at the sciences, concentrated his studies on the subject. Even before he neared the end of his undergraduate studies, he knew he wanted to pursue an advanced degree in Physics, following in his father's footsteps.

In his final year at university, Bryant decided to take part in his school's exchange programme. He ended up choosing to study abroad in the United States; specificially, at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Even after university ended, Bryant took steps to remain in the States and continued his education at MIT for graduate school. Fortunately, his mother's status as a diplomat allowed for this quite nicely.

Given Bryant's mother's work, his life was at times in the public eye and subject to danger. She and Bryant's father were killed in an explosion. The press called it a gas leak, but there were whispered rumors of assassination.

Orphaned and bereaved, Bryant opted to remain in the Boston area. England did not feel like home anymore. Not without his parents. Although he was in the doctorate program, academia no longer felt like what Bryant wanted to do. Stopping after obtaining his Master's degree, he decided to enroll in the Police Academy and become a part of the Boston Police Department.
