Born a little after midnight on April 23rd in a small town in Essex, England. She was born a mere few minutes before her fraternal twin, but ever since childhood, she grows up to take the position of being "older" quite seriously. Even though there are aspects of the "middle child syndrome" that do end up feeling very real to Brianna, the way the eldest Bradshaw turned out made it so that the sense of responsibility often landed on Bri instead. As such, she didn't have the negative, resentful, drivelessness of the typical middle child; at the same time, it was a role that did feel lonely at times. While she loved her siblings—she was especially close to her twin, as one might expect—it was hard not to be a little envious of them for their allowance in being more bold and outspoken about things.

Brianna had a pleasant enough childhood, albeit a slightly lonesome one, as she was a quiet child and not as outgoing and sociable as her twin. What was more, she always felt a bit on the outside of things, though she could not for the life of her put her finger on what made her feel this way. When puberty hit at age 13, however, Brianna began to experience this more keenly. She felt uncomfortable in her own skin, even beyond the usual degree to which adolescents felt this way. There was a certain societally-gendered role that she never felt entirely fitting of her. In spite of the physical developments to her appearance, she never felt as traditionally feminine; she rather abhorred the label of 'English rose'. At the same time, she also didn't feel like she entirely fit any of the stereotypes of being a "tomboy" either.

After several more years, once she turned 16, it became more prominently apparent to Brianna what set her apart from feeling "normal". Since she hit puberty, she slowly but surely found herself tending to notice girls significantly more than she noticed boys in her peer group. However, as the daughter of members of the English upper class, she knew it wasn't exactly considered well-to-do for this to be openly recognized. Fearful of what her family and their society acquintances might think of her, Brianna continued to focus on her academics and infrequently date boys when occasion forced her to do so.

Following completion of her post-16 education, Brianna moved to London to attend university at the University of West London, formerly known as Thames Valley University. There she took courses in Physics and, discovering that she was quite good at the sciences, concentrated her studies on the subject. Even before she neared the end of her undergraduate studies, she knew she wanted to pursue an advanced degree in Physics.

In her final year at university, she decided to take part in the exchange programme. As a result, she ended up studying abroad in the United States; specificially, at Columbia in New York City. This was where she first met Henry Harker when Henry's Uncle Len & Aunt Faye signed up to be a host family for exchange students. The kindly couple, with their nephew, became something like a second family to the girl who had never traveled so far across the ocean by herself at that point in her life. Although it was quite obvious to Brianna that Henry—four years her junior—was attracted to her, they got over any awkwardness of living under the same roof fairly quickly by bonding over their shared love of science.

Even after university ended, Brianna took steps to remain in the States. Fortunately, her father's status as a diplomat through the UN allowed for this quite nicely. She opted to continue at Columbia for her graduate studies and eventually earned a doctorate in Physics. Throughout this time, she and Henry lived together as roommates, first in the Harker household and then into their own shared apartment once they moved out.

Brianna was what one might call a "late bloomer". Her hesitation around her sexuality gave her pause to explore it and, as such, she did not lose her viriginity until she was 25. Henry, being her best friend, was perhaps the only person she felt like she could trust initially to share her secret with. Between half-joking, half-serious discussions of possibly experimenting with her very occasional attraction to men with Henry, Brianna shied away from this option out of the desire to prevent any potentiality of ruining their valued friendship. Ultimately, the teetotaler decided to bite the bullet by getting very drunk one night after meeting up with a good-looking man at an event she was at. While he was very gentlemanly about it and really quite handsome, the experience confirmed for her that she simply was not sexually attracted to men in that way. Fortunately, the two of them remained on good terms following the encounter and in the years since have actually become good friends.

Graduated from the Physics doctoral program at Columbia.

After a year in the field, Brianna realized she'd preferred academia to industry work. Thanks to her professional experience, as well as stellar recommendations from her Columbia mentors for whom she served as both RA and TA during her time there, she landed an assistant professorship in the Physics department at NYU. Specifically, she became part of the group at the Center for Cosmology and Particle Physics.

It took another 5 years until Brianna was comfortable trying to pursue anything more serious beyond a handful of dates with a woman. Comments from family about her turning 30 and not having had a single long-term relationship grated on her. After a time, she finally decided to come out to her twin, who fortunately took the news well and was very supportive. With that encouragement bolstering her resolve, Brianna began to get more involved with the local LGBTQ community. She eventually moved to Greenwich Village and became more immersed in the community. Even so, to this day, she is not "out" to the rest of her family.
